About due dates & pregnancy.
How is the due date calculated?
Using Naegele's rule: the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP) plus 280 days (40 weeks). If your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days, the date is shifted by the difference. An early ultrasound is usually more accurate.
What is the LMP?
LMP is the first day of your last menstrual period before pregnancy. Midwives and doctors use it to date the pregnancy.
How accurate is the due date?
It is an estimate. Only about 4–5% of babies are born on their due date; most arrive between 37 and 42 weeks. Your midwife or doctor may adjust it based on ultrasound.
How many antenatal check-ups do I need?
The Indonesian Ministry of Health recommends at least 6: once in the first trimester, twice in the second, and three times in the third, with at least two by a doctor.
How much weight should I gain?
It depends on your pre-pregnancy BMI. With a normal BMI the recommendation is 11.5–16 kg (single pregnancy). This calculator uses IOM guidelines and shows the recommended gain for your current week.
What does the paid guide include?
Baby development and body changes for this week and the next 4 weeks, nutrition needs with a 3-day sample menu, a check-up checklist per trimester, birth preparation and baby essentials, questions for your midwife or doctor, and a PDF.
