watchOS 27 Bug Leaves Apple Watch Always-On Display an Hour Fast
Some Apple Watch users running watchOS 27 are reporting a daylight saving bug after clocks went back an hour in the UK and Europe on Sunday. The Always-On display on their watches still shows summer time, leaving it an hour fast.
What users are reporting
The reports come from a thread on the MacRumors forums. Five users, several of them in the UK and central Europe, say their Apple Watch shows the correct time when the screen is activated. Once it drops back to the Always-On display, the time reverts to summer time.
The same problem has also been reported in standby mode. So far, it's unclear which combination of watchOS 27 versions or Apple Watch models is affected.
How to work around it for now
Restarting the watch fixed the problem for three users. A sixth poster who joined the thread says switching watch faces also worked. All of this is still based on user reports in the forum.
For readers outside the affected regions, there's nothing to worry about yet. But clocks across most of the U.S. go back this coming Sunday, November 1, so if you or your team work with people there, this one is worth keeping an eye on.
